Time Below Cast Listing
Play that takes place in the early 1980s in Washington, DC. Scenes placed in a Congressional office, a medical clinic, a gay nightclub, a gay restaurant for brunch, and interior home scenes. This is extracted from a 24-episode epic nighttime soap called Mary Go-Round, was first performed as a stage play in 1999 in San Francisco. Other than the character of Archangel Michael and Cortland “Cory” Kendoll, all actors play multiple small parts and one main role. Main roles are listed and will be primary casting consideration, while secondary roles will be part of call-backs.
Minimalist, and utilitarian set with on-stage costume changes. Actors wear flesh-toned body suits with all character-specific costume and prop elements from waist up. Quick-paced scene-to-scene timing, on a dime character turn-around, and strong choreographic flow. Very physical in demands on actors, and production is a tight ensemble cast. Aiming for video release through free web media (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and possible live staged performances in local Hudson Valley area and Mahnattan.
Rehearsal period from mid-February through March 24, filming from March 25 through 30. Unpaid video performance and rehearsal, but theatrical performances will be compensated by stipend.
Directed by Ken Ludden, author of script and director/choreographer/teacher. Send headshot, resume and contact information to web address listed. All inquiries will receive response, serious individuals will be scheduled for audition.
