Velie bodies

Posted by on February 01, 2007 at 16:55:20:

The question concerning Velie bodies, is were they made in 1926 by Murray Body Co. ?
I have been reading that there was an amalgamation of
Anderson Carriage Co.
C. R. Wilson Body Co.
J. W. Murray Manufacturing Co.
Towson Body Co.
J. C. Widman Body Co.
which appears to have occurred about 1924 or 25, if this is so were the 1926 year model bodies by Murray?
Is this the same Murray that built sedan bodies for Ford?
The George Evans Corporation of Moline produced sheet metal parts for Deere and Co and Velie, do you know which parts?

The window heights on the 1926 sedan appears taller than the 1928, is this so? (please see attachments)
Our Velie had the parallel belt lines without the 'step' in the belt line behind the rear door, and drum headlights,

Thank you and regards
