: The original design of the Calor Ranger was for an industrial tug to tow trailers etc in a factory hence the use of LPG as a fuel. A design team which originated from the Harry Ferguson era was involved. - Eventuallty the product was sold to Turner International Engineering, Alcester, Warks, who had been involved in the manufaturer of the product with Calor Gas. - Turners sold it as a tug (London Zoo) were amongst it's customers used for pulling visitors around on trailers. The Agricultural Industry needed a lightweight vehicle for sraying nitrogen in early spring when tractors would be too heavy. An excellent vehicle but the CV joints broke and so BMC 1800 units were fitted. It became too expensive to manufacture and parts availability became an issue - other purpose built vehicles became available more suited to both markets: Hope this info helps, Mike: : Nigel,
: : : The Ranger was not produced by this Turner, and although there was another, unrelated, Turner company in Wolverhampton (Turner Manufacturing Limited) I doubt that it was involved either. I note that there is a photograph of a Turner Ranger on eBay at present, item no. 290397336074 which may be of interest. Rgds, Brian
