Here in the US we have something like 26 different vintage race organizations. (Go to: V-M-C.org) The VSCCA in the Northeast US are the ones who limit cars to 1959 & earlier & changes to that same period. Thus, their limit to 15" x 4.5" wheels. Most other orgs allow 13". Unfortunately, proof that Jack offered 13" wheels as an option only goes back to about 1960 or 1961. So, the VSCCA has stood fast.

Of course the problem is that original steel wheels have been breaking. I know of at least 4 instances in recent years. And, new substitute wheels of any kind are almost impossible to find unless as previously mentioned, they are custom-made/modified.

My personal solution is simply to race elsewhere with Hoosiers on 13" Superlites. They work fine with no spacers.
