Thanks to Pip's efforts, eventually managed to meet up with Julian Gerard last Tues.8th.Sept. (he travelled with Pip in his Turner and I took UJU along to a gathering of VSCC chaps).
Julian confirmed he had used UJU 952 in the early 60's for pleasure and in Autotests but recalled that it had arrived in his fathers garage (probably in part-ex for something, but not brand new ) whereupon he'd latched onto the idea that this would be a fun car for his own use. Julian had re-srayed the car dark blue with a white nose and stripe. He was amazed to see the car exactly like that (but rather the worse for wear) in a photo I had as I started the re-build in ,'70.
His memory, and my discovery as I rubbed down the paintwork, confirmed the original colour as being a pale blue. So, still no wiser as to whom the car was originally supplied, but some gaps now filled in.
Thanks for help and all your efforts for the Club
