"Lug" Nuts for Wire Wheel Conversion - Source?

Posted by on May 22, 2007 at 13:58:15:

When I removed my rear axles to install a dual bearing kit to lessen the chances of breaking rear axles, two of the nuts attaching the wire wheel adapter hubs to the axle flange wouldn't come off. One had to be cut off, the other required a pneumatic chisel. Both were destroyed. Now, I'm searching for replacements. Thusfar, I have been unsuccessful.

Nuts are 9/16" land-to-land, fit the standard Sprite 3/8" x 24 stud (cut shorter)and have a tapered base to fit into the counter-sunk hole in the hub flange. And, the nuts on 30/206 are nylok self-locking.

I've tried Brit-Tek, The Nutty Company, McMaster-Carr, Moss, British Wire Wheel & now have a call in to Morgan Spares as Jim at British Wire Wheel thinks they sound like Morgan +8 lug nuts.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Norm
