Available after Pony Club Camp - 6th August!
*** Marvellous Monty!***

12hh (approx) Liver Chestnut Sec.B gelding

We are looking for a new home for our little gentleman Monty (Regal Hussar). our preference would be for an active Pony Club home. we bought this super little pony from a local riding school so that our daughter could "go fast and jump" (her words!) after outgrowing her tiny lead rein/1st ridden saint! Monty has fulfilled her limited requirements and surpassed all of mine! He is an utter gentleman on the ground - safe for any child in the field or stable. Daughter does everything with him and toddler daughter helps wash him on show days! He is 100 (and more)% to clip, with farrier (shod in front), vet and dentist. Very little fazes Monty!
In the first year we had him he took our daughter from barely crossing trotting poles to points champion (13 & under SJ) and reserve points champion (10 & under SJ) at our local riding club - daughter was nine at the time. He qualified NW SJ champs and took daughter to PC champs on the junior games team. She had never done games before getting Monty.
he has done all PC activities - rallies, XC, camp, hacked and hunted. Monty is a hard-working and willing pony. Not a ploddy 1st pony but not a supersharp 2nd pony. We call him a 1.5 pony! Child needs to be able to be awake on him as he was once a top competition pony and can remember it! My daughter by no means a super rider! He loves to jump and is very fast (especially in jump offs). Needs a rider who isn't scared of this as he has a sensitive mouth and we think might have been jabbed by a nervous rider in the past. He is brilliant at shows and rallies - can be taken to any venue and never bats an eye! Utterly reliable - will come off the trailer/wagon, be tacked up, trot across to the ring and jump a clear round. He never makes a fuss or causes bother. Will happily plod round the village with toddler on the lead rein but does enjoy a more interested and varied life.
Monty is 21 this year (we don't tell him) and has NEVER been sick, sorry or unsound. He loves work and this is why we need to find him a new home. Daughter is fast outgrowing him and knows that this is her last summer with him. We did not pay a fortune for Monty and we are not selling him to make a profit. price is very negotiable to the perfect home. If he were the type of pony who could retire we would retire him but he'd be so glum! He must go to an experienced and active (pref PC) home where he will be loved and treated like the little prince he is!

Monty's list of requirements!
Plenty of turnout & a warm stable (with rugs) for winter
Regular riding to keep him fit and supple
An interesting life!
Shoes & teeth regularly checked (we have his dental history!)
Nose net (will come with him) in early summer and September or he will head toss - hates flies and is sensitive to pollen
Fly rug (comes with him) and spray
Correct diet for a veteran
Regular clipping. Monty gets woolly and needs clipping to keep cool - luckily he enjoys it!
No mane pulling! This is the one thing he hates! We feel he's reached a stage in life where he's allowed a quirk!
Monty will turnout alone and never makes a fuss coming and going from field but we would prefer he had friends (mares or geldings - he doesn't mind!)
The love and care of a little person (or two!) with an experienced adult in the background
References from Pony Club or regular instructors

Monty has brought us nothing but joy and owes us nothing. He will only go to a home that will be perfect for him. Please be understanding if we are picky and ask loads of questions! My daughter's heart is breaking over this and she is trying to cope with it so no timewasters please. Serious applicants only.

No loans, shares, tyre-kickers, dealers or first timers please. We will be delighted to arrange visits with Monty - at home, shows or PC (rallies/camp). Plenty of time for repeat visits!

phone 07854703232 in the first instance - would prefer no texts. Very special 'person' to us this little guy and would like to talk to people interested!

Not sure how photos work but have loads of him to view via email!

Loads of photos available!
