Hi all, I have come across an article from the Variety trade newspaper, dated Wednesday January 29, 1969. It states that producer Harry Saltzman had replaced Sean Connery with George Lazenby for the James Bond role and would have actor Nigel Davenport replace Michael Caine in the Harry Palmer role for HORSE UNDER WATER. Peter Collinson was to direct HORSE, filming to get underway later that year, even though Andre De Toth had previously been mentioned as the director. De Toth helmed PLAY DIRTY which starred both Caine and Davenport. Interesting but I can't imagine Davenport as Palmer.
