I think it's just these two particular books that it happened with. And I can't tell how, without ruining either story! However, some characters might be carried over into another book, or references to some scene in a previous book. I would say get those two, and read Brimstone first. They are kind of an adventure/mystery/crime type of book, really good. I think you would be pleased with them, if you like that type of book.

Brimstone was just killing me, I had to power read to get to the end, I was dying to know what happened!!!!
