: Your best bet would be to take her to an avian specialist vet for a checkover, as it is possible she has some internal injuries or fractures you haven't detected. Birds are good at acting normal when something is wrong. But it sounds as if you have been very, very lucky! To locate an avian vet, check out the "find a vet" section at hte website aav.org.
Thank you for your reply. I just wanted to post it and possibly just get someone elses opinion. This bird really should be dead. I am thankful because I really adore her.
I too was worried about internal injuries and still somewhat am. The bird is acting perfectly normal and doing tricks, eating, playing, etc....as if nothing ever happened!!! That is why I have a hard time believing this. How the bird went through that trama and was in that motionless state( either pain or shock) and still survived. I cannot believe that she is ok.
Needless to say, if rondo is not in the cage then my girlfriend needs to know where the bird is at ALL times.
I will definetly be taking her in for a checkup, that is the best idea
It has been 4 days since this incident, and the bird is acting fine and showing no signs of distress. I am still watching her carefully
