It's counter-intuitive, but you could try putting her to bed earlier, so that a normal waking hour would give her 10-12 hours of darkness. How is the cage situated? If it's in an east-facing room she may be getting plenty of light through the cover. Perhaps you could use a sleep cage someplace darker, like a bathroom and see if that helps?
If you have to go get her to quiet her when she screams, she WILL scream to get that effect, so I think your only hope lies in greater darkness!
