My own GCC doesn't seem to be afraid of yellow, so maybe yours had a bad experience with something yellow, like being wrapped in a yellow towel and the vet or groomer.
Birds do have good color vision, better than ours, and very often like or dislike specific colors.
Some species of parrots do have patches of bright red or orange feathers on the wings that are only visible when the wing is open. So these species may be sensitive to a flash of these colors as in thw wild it would indicate a flockmate was taking off, perhaps because they saw a predator (same idea as a white tail deer showing its white tail as a warning when running from a predator).
