Does she have a clean vet bill? Is it possible that she's been trying to tell you in more subtle ways that she's getting over-stimulated or scared and you didn't notice, so she upped the ante?

Punishment, even time-outs, can backfire with birds. You may do better trying to find behavior you can reward and work your way up from there.

If you don't find the kind of advice you need here, you might want to try one of the higher-traffic forums that are more general. There is a Bird Channel forum, Avian Avenue, the Parrot Forum and my personal favorite, Parrot Lover's Paradise: http://www.parrotparadiseforum.com/

She's young, I'm sure you can "fix" it, but it might be a bit of a project. First thing is to try to figure out why she's doing it. There IS a reason, but it might be obscure to humans.
