Hi all. I live in North Carolina and have recently found a parrot rescue that holds educational classes in Asheville, Cary, and near DC. The organization is called Phoenix Landing. I went to 2 of their classes over the weekend and am amazed a how poorly I've been feeding my GGC. Although he gets some fruits and veggies (mainly as a bite from mine), a lot of his diet needs to be fresh foods. They also recommend an organic feed called Harrison's Parrot feed and use if for all their birds waiting for adoption. They talk a lot about making sure your bird gets natural sunlight (they need vitamin D, too) and have lots of things to keep parrots busy. I'd be interested to see what other people are feeding their birds and if anyone has any great ideas for feeding. Thanks.
