I am sure most owners are wise to this.
9000 NX has gained a number of lovely shiny new electrical components during its restoration. I do not know the source of these parts, but I am guessing. My guess is supported by the failure of a year old, less than 100 mile of use coil. A Chinese fake Lucas branded coil, on looking. These are worse than the Chinese Lucas branded coils available, which I would still avoid buying, as they are rubbish, as opposed to junk.
My advice is to query where the new parts you buy originate from. If they are unbranded, or the trader does not know, you do not want them (unless you know what your looking at). A number of previously good suppliers have fallen to supplying this crap, and they should know better. Oh, they willingly take it back, but they know its a try on.
So NX is lining up to gain a 35 year old little used genuine Lucas coil from an Invalid Carriage. I can duck the dissy parts mostly by buying a hall effect conversion kit. But there are a few switches and bits that look suspiciously shiny, so to the used parts bin for handy spares, if needed.
