I think by the late 60`s he was trying to simplify things and the car was a very different animal from the early cars. Having inspected one many years ago it looked very ungainly, very high at the front of the bonnet and a much deeper raked screen that threatened to remove an eye everytime you got in. It had an unusual hood arrangement, two fibreglass `planks` which came back from the top of the screen frame and sloped down to just in front of the boot and the hood was just thrown over that.
It was all Spitfire stuff as you say except the body which bolted onto the chassis......Martin
