commentsJohnny, hi. Just got your message. I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Ridao's passing. Please convey my heartfelt condolences to his family.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the sad news. And to think that a while back you mentioned something about him wanting or suggesting that we have a reunion of all batches in the near future. It would've been great to have attended this event with him and most if not all of our former teachers in attendance.

May he rest in peace, and be forever remembered as the quiet, serious, capable, talented, loving husband, father, principal, and friend that he was. I so admired his lovely penmanship, his calm but strong presence. He will be truly missed.

amie

commentsIt's quite saddening to find out that a "great man and a priest” like Fr. Herbers, has passed away. Please join me in prayer for the eternal repose of his soul. May he find his place in Heaven and live in peace with our Creator.

For his greatness, I don’t want some of his notable accomplishments to go unnoticed especially for those young students, high school and college alike, who never knew him.

The late Fr. Herbers was one of the pioneer SVD priests who ensured the establishment of our Alma Mater. With his continued support, the school became one of the premiere institutions of learning in the region. His total commitment and unwavering vision towards providing the best education contributed greatly to a bigger and brighter future for many students.

He was a devout catechism teacher and mentor who taught the life and teachings of Christ. His total caring and unselfish attitude towards his profession left a lasting impression that helped shape the moral and spiritual character of the students.

And finally, he was instrumental in the acquisition of a piece of land (from the Changco family) where a church was built in Bo. San Jose. An accomplishment well appreciated by the people of that barrio.

Fr. Herbers’ legacy will live on not only in our hearts and minds but also in the generations to come. God bless his soul!

CommentsIt is with deep sorrow to learn the recent untimely demise of two beloved people closest to the hearts of co-alumni, Manang Gilda and Carmen. There is no sadder moment in one's life than to lose a loved one.
Manang Gilda and Carmen, I know you both will overcome your grief and sorrow with the loss of your respective hubby. You will forever cherish the beautiful memories, romance and love you shared together and in Carmen's case, the wonderful kids he left you with. We all exists on borrowed time. It is just a matter of who goes first. Death must not be looked upon with fear, sorrow and disdain. Rather, it must be revered and heralded as the one that ushers in the beginning of another life- an spiritual one where pain, agony and sorrow have no existence. Woe, then not of your loss but rejoice as their journey into had just begun. May they Rest in Peace. We will always pray for their bereaed soul.

CommentsIF TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME dedicated to the late Mr. Ridao A few weeks ago a woman teacher was killed in an auto accident. She was very, very well liked, so the school systems shut down for her funeral and it was on the news and so on. On the day the workers came back to work, they found this poem in their e-mail that the deceased woman had sent on Friday before she left for home. If tomorrow starts without me, And I'm not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things, we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, As much as I love you, And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand. They said my place was ready, In heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind; All those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, A tear fell from my eye For all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, So much left yet to do, It seemed almost impossible, That I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, The good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared, And all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, Just even for a while, I'd say good-bye and kiss you And maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized, That this could never be, For emptiness and memories, Would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did, My heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From His golden throne; He said, "This is eternity, And all I've promised you." Today your life on earth is past, But here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, But today will always last, And since each day's the same way, There's no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, So trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things, You knew you shouldn't do. But you have been forgiven, And now at last you're free. So won't you come and take my hand, And share my life with me? So when tomorrow starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, For every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart.

Comments• I am deeply saddened to note that a lot of those who went to high school with us have passed on. Charito Doot, Minda Duyag and Imelda Sison- I remember them very vividly. Estrella Nicolas laughed a lot and she is missed I am sure. Mariel Ridao (so young) and I were very close and I am devastated to learn of her death. Teresita Rosal was someone I knew even before I went to DWC- and to learn that she passed on only recently is just too much to bear right now. Does anybody know how to get in touch with the families of these friends? Please let me know.

CommentsI deeply regret the passing of these co-alumni. The fact that they don't belong to our batch and therefore, knew them sparingly, does not take away the genuine concern and deep sorrow I feel inside. I do hope and pray for the eternal repose of their soul. May their respective families and loved ones find comfort and solace during this time of grief. As we mourn their loss I leave you with this thought: "It is not the brevity or longevity of one's life that counts the most but how one lived it. It is not the greatness or wealth or fame of a person that matters but the way he/she treated his/her fellow human being. Accolades and exultations are not only reserved for those who are good in the eyes of society; they are just as kept for those who have done so few but hidden in the eyes of men and women".

I offer my praise and exultation to our dear co-alumni for all the good deeds they have done here on earth.
