: Our state has a most-wanted website for those in arrears (including a few women). To get on this most-wanted site a person has to have their payments managed through the state (rather than paying direct) and be at least a total 12 months value behind on payments, including no payments at all for the past 6 months, with a minimum of $5000 due.
: They are exempt from being on the most-wanted list if they have a known address. They are also exempt if they are receiving any kind of welfare benefits or have filed for bankruptcy. There are over 400 people on this list.
: I cannot imagine the numbers of those that are exempt from the website, but aren't paying and no one is enforcing it. They used to have a "round up" once a year (on Father's Day, right around mid-term elections). One year I can find online they said 160 Posse members went out and arrested over 100 deadbeats -- oh whoopie.
: Certainly there are warrants out for arrest, but no one is out looking for them. If they get stopped for something else then they are in jail with bond being the amount owed. If they "behave" then they can go about their lives ...
