I guess as a child I got my shots in the doc office, but for as long as I can remember I go to the pharmacy. My current doc (25+ years) doesn't even have flu shots in his office anymore.
At my CVS the pharmacist gives the shots. We have two of them and both have been there for a long time and we feel like we know them. During Covid they hired a nurse, because of the high volume of people needing shots. I also needed a flu shot but she told me best to wait a week or so and not get both at the same time. I did get my flu and Shingles vacc at the same time the year before, but I guess MRNA was new and different so they were being careful.
I did get my first two Covid shots in a parking lot about an hour from home - drive up and do paperwork while the line snaked around. My first one was a 1:45 in the morning and the second was at 4:45! I have a few drug allergies so after I had to drive to park by the fire truck for a half hour - with cute fireman talking to me! It was quite an adventure.
DH gets most of his shots at work, which is a Senior Community with a nursing home on site. He knows most of the nurses, and they know him -- he is afraid of needles and if he looks he will faint!
