If they don't get the needle into the correct position in the muscle, go in too high or deep, it can lead to inflammation in the shoulder. I think they pretty much sum it up as "frozen shoulder."

There's probably lawsuits due to poor injection technique now, but even back then my insurance covered the doctor visit and all the physical therapy.
