Verizon was the last to shut down 3G on 12/31.
The 3G shutdown has been in the works for years and many warnings were made, but apparently not by BestBuy/Lively who caters to seniors. They should have contacted customers with older phones and offered newer phones long before they turned it off.
Thank goodness you were able to take care of it, but think of the people who don't have the wherewithal to do so. Supposedly less than 10% of cellphone users were on 3G, but still, they had a duty to inform them what was going to happen before they pulled the plug.
