Really, I grew up dirt poor and then things got worse. And now I am worried that you "need" to eat something maybe dangerous or else not eat? No, no no. I really will help, if that is the issue.

And if it is just about the date? Well, I never ever save thing past the date ... just because I am old and still believe the government is taking care of me. Okay, that might be oh-so-wrong but I was raised that way.

So, back to the original question -- THROW IT OUT, cuz food poisoning suck!! Not worth the risk!!
