: Could anyone offer some advice on how they got their puppies to be able to stay in a crate if you go away? I had one dog who loved it, one who hated it and now a new puppy. She goes in a smaller crate to sleep, very well. But during the day, I work at home and she can be with me in the office. I don't go out a lot but need her to be safe if I do so how do I even get her to do this? I know I should practice every day and I can't just lock her in and run. I have a crate downstairs that she goes in and out of, briefly (very briefly) so it is available. I hate to freak her out and I try to put her in and sit there, letting her go in and out randomly to give her comfort.
: I can't remember how we got the first dog to love it! It was his home.
: Another factor is my 7 YO dog who doesn't help the matter. He instigates by roaming around and she loves him so she wants to be near him (him notsomuch with her, ha, but he has to see what she is doing).
: Any tips I can try?
: Thanks!
