You didn't say why your PCP told you this. Are you diabetic? Pre-diabetic?

: this madness and start eating a healthy diet; i.e., the Mediterranean Diet. So I cold-turkey'd the refined sugar, stopped all breads & junk food and stuck for 33 days straight with the Med. diet. Actually it was easy and I was so proud of myself at 66 years of age! I lost 3-4 pounds. HOWEVER I noticed my energy level DROPPED after the 3rd week on this new diet. I felt sooo tired and could only think of taking a nap. I just felt LAZY! So I went back to eating more of the things I used to, altho I have kept my sugar consumption way down.

: Why would I feel so tired after starting on this HEALTHY diet? And why do I feel better now that I'm cheating and eating more bread?

: The protein I ate in the Med diet was chicken breast, turkey breast, pinto beans, etc. and I ate lots of vegetables and fresh fruit. I'm still eating much better, but have added some bread back and also have some refined sugar (cookies).

: I just do not understand why eating HEALTHY made me feel worse...

: Anyone?
