Boosting the billing is unfortunately very common in PCP practices these days.

So those practices that can't rack up a bunch of 3- and 4-figures charges for colonoscopies, MRIs, etc. turn what should be one low-reimbursement visit into a string of visits plus various other finagles to get a little more out of the insurance companies.

I understand the problem, but I too have no interest in being made an unwilling part of the solution with upcharges, unneeded office visits, and charges for RN/MD visits that didn't really happen. (I recall one practice that charged a full-freight office visit every time for prescription renewals that were done through a 2-minute phone call to the front desk.)
