(1) Where I live (DC area), we have an all news radio station (WTOP). They have this thing called, "Traffic and Weather on the 8s." So, they give weather and traffic reports all day long, every day (example: 6:18 am / 6:28 am / 6:38 am / 6:48 am / 7:08 am, etc.). Do you have an all news radio station in your area?

(2) Va. Dept. of Transportation (VDOT) has traffic cameras on their website. Can you look at your state's DOT traffic maps?

(3) Google maps will show the flow of traffic.

(4) I use a portable Garmin Navigator device which gets traffic info. I bought the device/software back in 2016, I get map updates when I plug the device into my desktop system at home for a recharge. I do not pay monthly for the device. The device is portable, so I just take it with me into any car. There used to be Magellan and Tom Tom along with Garmin for navigation. You might check out their websites.

I have a smartphone, but I don't bother with its direction/traffic apps. I only pay $12.33 a month with Ting and I MAKE that phone operate on WiFi only and not go searching for cell towers or do anything with my "location." Therefore, I prefer a dedicated, cheap (HA!) GPS device.

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
