Flan "Cuban Milk Custard" sm

I used to visit a 98-year-old Cuban man in a nursing home. He came from Cuba and ended up living in Key West for most of his life, working in a men's clothing store. When he retired, he moved up here to be near family.

He gave me this recipe that he tells me tastes like traditional Cuban flan.

1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
3 egg yolks (if eggs are small, use 4)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350

Mix condensed milk, evaporated milk, egg yolks and vannilla with electric mixer. Mix well.

Brown sugar in a saucepan on medium heat, stirring occasionally until melted and caramel color. Pour on sides and bottom of loaf pan.

Pour mixture into loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 45 min to an hour.

The only thing I can add to this, is be sure to mix with the mixer very, very well or your flan will be grainy,
