1 lb Italian sausage
1 lb ground turkey (can use ground beef)
1 family size can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 bag tater tots
1 bag (2 cups or more) shredded cheese (we use the fiesta blend)
milk (water can be used also in a pinch)
Brown sausage and turkey, drain if desired. Remove from heat and stir in soup. Add milk to desired consistency (I like mine a bit on the soupy side since we end up with 1/2 a pan of leftovers, keeps it from getting dry in the fridge overnight). Pour into a 9 x 13 pan. Spread cheese. Line up the tater tots in even rows (this will allow all but about 4 or 5 tots in the bag to be used). Bake according to the instructions on the tater tot bag.
To change it up, we change soup flavors when we can find them. Sometimes we use cream of roasted garlic mushroom soup and add either cream of broccoli or cream of asparagus in it (small cans, total 2-3 depending on how moist you want it).
