2-3 pounds boneless venison roast
1 large onion, sliced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2-3 cloves garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 package dry onion soup mix (can omit and use can onion soup if watching salt)
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed golden mushroom soup
1 cup water or red wine
Brown roast and then place in slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
Mix soups, water, and wine together and pour mixture over venison. Cook on Low setting for 6 hours.
Good over noodles or mashed potato.
: I've got about a 2-1/2 pound roast that has not been marinated or treated in any way. Then I have a shoulder (??) that supposedly has been marinated and it's just a matter of cooking it.
: I know venison can be a little tough. I'm hoping you all have experience in making somewhat tender venison roasts and then stew. Thank you for your help if you can! : D
