I've got venison and no real definite ideas how to cook it. Any great recipes? sm

I've got about a 2-1/2 pound roast that has not been marinated or treated in any way. Then I have a shoulder (??) that supposedly has been marinated and it's just a matter of cooking it.

I know venison can be a little tough. I'm hoping you all have experience in making somewhat tender venison roasts and then stew. Thank you for your help if you can! : D
