Fool-proof pie crust

4 cups all-purpose flour
1-3/4 cups shortening (I use the sticks - much easier to measure)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup water
1 egg beaten

With fork or food processor mix first 4 ingredients. In separate bowl beat remaining ingredients, combine the 2 mixtures until moistened. Form into a ball and chill at least 15 minutes. I divide into 6 portions and wrap in plastic and then freeze in an airtight container for later use.

Makes good pie crusts and I also use to make tuna roll or echol's cake - recipes posted separately.
