This basic recipe can be tweaked per your taste - add cut up celery, sliced carrots, diced potatoes..whatever your pleasure.
I haven't been able to master the art of a true rolled home-made dumpling (that and it takes more time). So, I use the pre-made biscuits available at the store.
I bought 4 pre-made biscuit 'cans' today in the refrid section at the grocery store for 1.50.
I'll only use 2, or maybe 3 for this recipe. The other can go with the breakfast meal.
