Lexi's Texas beans recipe

These have been a hit everywhere I have taken them.

Texas Beans

1/2 lb. bacon, cut in small pieces.
1/2 lb. lean ground beef.
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. catsup
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp dry mustard
1 can hot chili beans
1 can red kidney beans
1 can good quality pork and beans (I use the medium size can for these, but regular size can for the other two beans)

Brown bacon bits until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Drain grease from pain and brown ground beef and onion. In large casserole or small roasting pan, add all ingredients, including bacon pieces, and stir to mix. Back 45 minutes at 350 degrees

I am just an average run of the mill cook and have not been able to hurt these, LOL. I have started baked them in the oven for the entire time, or I have put them in the oven for 30 minutes to get them close to done and then dumped them in a crockpot to keep them warm for a potlock. I have done them in the crockpot for the entire time, but if you do this, sometimes it's good to drain some of the juice from the beans before putting them in.
