let's see if I can do this from memory.
About 2 pounds of stew meat
Flour to dredge the meat in
About 1/4 cup of oil but can use more or less if necessary
About 1 pound of pearl onions or just a large onion chopped in fairly big pieces
2 beef bullion cubes crushed
4 medium potatoes peeled and cut into pieces
1 pound baby carrots
1 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
2 cups frozen green peas
Using about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil cook onions until almost done. Remove to a large pot and leave oil in pan. Dredge pieces of meat in flour and brown on all sizes in the pan where you cooked the onions. Remove to pot as it browns and then add 1 quart of water and the bullion cubes. Cook until the meat is tender. While the meat is cooking prepare the potatoes, carrots and mushrooms. After the meat is tender put the potatoes, carrots and mushrooms in and cook until they are tender. After veggies are tender add the frozen green peas and then heat until the peas are warm (not very long as you want them to be a little crisp). Enjoy. It is even better the next day after the flavors have blended.
This is great served with homemade rolls like Surfie's dinner roll recipe for the bread machine.
