Indeed it has happened more often and more frequently in Europe for centuries. We are experiencing our own surges of Christianity's ebb and flow. I actually think what a lot is called Christianity nowadays should die while real Christianity continues to thrive. Christianity is not about power control by elite human beings over others, tho that seems to be the only thing the world can see it. There really IS something to essentially having a real friendship with God. It's amazing because it changes you so much for the better. Some of us are overzealous trying to share that experience with others, but there is nothing intentionally malicious about a real Christian wanting to share the Good News with others. You can't beat the experience into someone else's heart, they have to want it and experience the Amazing Love for themselves.
