When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Mario’s funeral

Posted by RossP on Thu, Nov 10 2022 at 01:15 PM CST:

I watched Mario’s funeral today, it was a very sad affair. His daughter, Mellisa, gave a very moving eulogy about her fathers life. She mentioned when Mario joined the Royal Sussex Regiment in Malta, and went through the different counties where he served. His coffin was draped with a flag of The Regimental colours. A photo on top of the coffin was of him in Regimental regalia. He was a real soldier and proud of his service. There is still some of us left and should attend Regimental functions before it’s too late. Not Association tea and buns parties put on for non veterans.
