When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. While serving in Aden as a young soldier up country in a place I have no wish to revisit, on night stag in a Sanger with 3 other guys the field phone rang from the command post to send up light, taking the verry pistol down from the nail in the roof of the Sanger and put in a cartridge a voice said to me let me fire that I have not fired one before I handed the pistol over and told him to go outside, there was a bang as the pistol was fired and a scream ,he came stumbling in with blood pouring from his hand I took his Berret off and squeezed it in his hand to stem the blood flow ,he had fired the pistol with two hands above his head but his little finger was over the barrel hence when fired took his little pinky off.earning him the nickname FINGERS
