When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't
have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name.

On coronation day 1953 my Father suddenly said. Let’s go to London and see it.my parents sister and twin brother got in to dad three wheeler van probably about 0600 and set off for London from Hastings.I remember seeing people looking at early events in Redifussion shop windows in Tonbridge on our way up. I only otherwise remember my dad parking on the Embankment. We then got through wooden barriers and went to Whitehall opposite Horse Guards.People pulled my brother and myself on to a balcony to see parade.I remember very little of it only 7 yrs old.I remember nothing of the drive home. How brave or foolish was my dad to do such a journey in a clapped out Del Boy type vehicle with 5 peoole
