When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Hello Eddie and Doug, you are both right in what you say. Eddie wants to go all the way, I don’t blame him at all. Our main problem is that they (RSX association hierarchy) will not listen, instead they trot out the same old rubbish, that no one complained when the rule of ‘Let the civvies run things’ or let non veterans wear the RSX regalia was formulated. They do not publish minutes of their meetings, so how are we to know! I don’t think they even know who is in the RSA. They don’t appear to keep records, if they do, they keep them locked away.
I know that Doug and many of us were really fed up with the pretenders marching as veterans on St George’s Day. It cheapened the whole event. What the public thought, God only knows. As for destroying old friendships, veterans of our Regiment know full well what side they are on. The Association hierarchy can stop this nastiness by changing the dress code for non veterans. It is entirely up to them to act soonest.
