When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Yes OK Tony, as I have said on a former post, that I attended the veterans luncheon put on by DaveTilley who is President of the Chichester Queen’s Regimental branch.

During a conversation with Major Russel he explained to me, that the Royal Sussex Regimental tie I was wearing, is no longer a regimental tie of the Royal Sussex Regiment, instead, it is now the Association tie as the Royal Sussex Regiment no longer exists. I must admit, that I was really shocked. When I got home, I ditched the tie and bought myself a Regular Army tie, which I shall now wear. I will keep my Royal Sussex Regimental badge and regalia which I will put on my blazer. Surely, those civvies who run the association can’t take that away from me!
