When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Perim Island

57 years ago today I was stationed on Perim Island in the Red sea about 1000 meters off the coast of Yeamen, my daughter was born in Malta on 5th Aug. It took 72 hours after here birth to inform me. She was nearly 3 months old before I saw her. How are the married soldiers treated today when their wife is about to give birth. Hopefully it's a dam site better then I was.

A very famous General of middle Eastern descent once said to a British Officer, 'If I had soldiers such as yours, I would treat then far better then you.' So very, very true.
