: My last word on this ?
: If your father went to Cambridge or Eton would you wear the tie just because you liked it, my grandfather was a Free Mason I wouldn't wear his tie ,the Tie is earned as your right to wear as a symbol of recognition of Service to your Regiment, I will not comment on Dress Code untill after the findings I just hope the honour of my Regiment is not given away to none served as this will lead to false representation and a lot of us stepping back from what we believe in.This should not have come to this ?
I rememered the other day that there was a Volunteer Battalion cap badge from WW1 I believe and personally if this was a viable option I would wear this as I am here as a volunteer and feel that the other non served association members would hopefully feel the same, the tie could have a thin stripe added between the 2 colours to signify this as well. I have known Dave a long time and I know this is nothing personal as he and I have always got on well and I understand where his stance is coming from hence why I am trying to find a solution for all parties. I don't want the association to die with the last man as I am proud of what my father and his brothers and all of you have done, We need to try to find prices for the Volunteer cap badge, Blazer badge and someone to come up with a tie and try to do it as cost effectively as possible. We need to have all costings and opinions on alternatives before the associaiton are approached so all their questions can be answered on the spot.
