When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Sorry to be blunt, but when the Queens was formed the county regiments started to lose their significance,
That was 57 years ago, so realistica.ly the youngest royal sussex man will be 75, within the next 10-15 years there will be nobody left to keep the name alive. How many branches have non royal sussex standard bearers that are young enough to carry that didn't serve as a royal sussex man. Does this now mean that queensmen will no longer be eligible to wear it?
