When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. I left the Army in 1974. My pay as a corporal was £43 a week. So it went up quite a lot in three years. I ended up on unemployment benefit for a while getting £25 a week. I started work on £28 a week. So I was working 40 hours a week for just £3 more. I wonder how many people would do that these days. Mind you, just a year later I was offered to buy a new house by the company I worked for, I still live in, and paid the mortgage off in 15 years.
