When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldnít have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. I think you Tony, must have been the only sergeant who did this, so good on you.
I also know that there was always a BOS and a duty officer, married or not. However, Iím talking about the Private soldierís who had to put up with this unfair situation. It happened to us frequently, and many soldiers made sure that the Battalion rankers knew that the single soldiers were unhappy about the problem.

I must say that it all changed later, I believe it was 1967 when we were told that it doesnít matter if you are married or not, duties will be dealt out fairly.

Can you remember how much you received for Married Allowance? That allowance was stopped in Germany.

Iím not having a go at you Tony, instead at the system that we had to endure.
