[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Main Board ] When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Nice to hear from you Steve. Yes, I do mean next year. This year we used the St. George’s Day event as a reunion. We all stayed in the Premier Inn and went out to Dave Tilleys club. We had a brilliant weekend. Doug Jones came over from Canada, Bren Webb came down from the Lake District, Dave Allaway, Eddie Cobb, myself and Megan, so there was a good bunch of us. We met up with Dave Tilley, Ian Stuart, Mick Tees (who was in a wheelchair)
Best thing was that there were no pretenders, (not with us anyway) only Royal Sussex Regiment veterans.

We did march with the Royal Sussex Regimental veterans, ( photos on Les Deacons site) the only problem was that some pretenders marched with us. That is the main reason we are having our own reunion, so there will not be any pretenders pretending to be Royal Sussex Regiment veterans.

We have to pick a town in central Sussex where most people can get to and stay overnight. We can all have a great time without having to drive home. (Not a lunchtime grannies tea and bun party)
