: The Royal Sussex Regiment has a memorial Site at WARTLING ROAD,HERSTMONCEUX,EAST SUSSEX, BN27 1RN.
: The site is in the the grounds of HERSTMONCEUX Castle This memorial site is the official site of the Regiment.
Claude Lowther was the owner of HERSTMONCEUX Castle at the time, and raise, three Royal Sussex Regiment Battalions, the 11th,12th,13th, Known as the South downers. (Lowther, Lambs). If you wish to visit the site which is very small, you do not have to pay to see the castle, just say you are their just to look at the Royal Sussex Site which is free, my own personal notes info etc are name plagues have no year on them, if you do not know them, no one knows if it could be the 1st, 2nd, war or since. A lot of basic names crop up on old Regimental lists of the same family names to this day. Their must at lest be the year. by the way some name plagues are for, Rod Arnold, Johnny butter, Dave prof, Dave Steadman etc.
