When Robert Jones first opened the site in 1994 he couldn’t have imagined that it would ever attract so many members and so much interest as it has generated. Sadly Robert passed away unexpectedly in 1918. he made us promise we would continue the running of the site in his name and uphold its good name this we promised to do. Colin and I don't have the expert knowledge in running the site but we will prod along as best we can to uphold its name. Just had the same message from Les Deacon, he cannot contact anyone yet, as his Web provider has a problem.
He has got the whole history of Maj. Steven Thorpe, which he will publish when he is able.
He was a Royal Sussex Regiment Officer and I first met him when he took over 5plt B Company in Malta. I remember, he used to run us ragged on cross country, I think with him, we ran all over Malta.
Bless him and may he rest in peace. The world is now poorer for his passing.
