: I see that the pc brigade in the army have let women do senior Brecon. The pt corps woman failed the cft,but they passed her and 14 others who failed the cft.wtf is going on can they not lower the standards anymore ,fail is fail pass is pass simple.Apparently the students on the course who passed were not happy and made it known .Firstly how can a unit send a student on the course and they fail a cft.Everyone is good at somethings so why cant the hierarchy leave things alone as they were. There must be ex senior ranks on here who done senior Brecon,i heard it was a very hard course to pass comments appreciated.
Brecon courses were devised by the parachute regiment. The concept was. To be promoted from l/cpl to cpl you had to pass junior Brecon. To be proved from cpl to sgt yiu had to pass senior Brecon.
Dan Whaley and myself were among the. First non para to do senior Brecon. It was October / November 1970. Course no. Tacc13.
Assembly was a Friday afternoon when the commandant was quite specific you crap hats are pushed this is the parachute regiment battle school.
Saturday and Sunday consisted of the test mentioned in the article plus the BFT plus BHE,S plus advance to contact exercise.
60 people started on Friday. When the course started proper on Monday morning there wasnít 60 people.
There was no excuses you want to be a sit thus us what you need to pass so Iím glad to hear after all these years things havenít changed.
As an aside for Aden vets. The commandant was ex 3 para and was involved in the taking of cap badge
