slightly off theme but I remember about 15 years ago I was with a fisherman mate ex coxswain of Eastbourne lifeboat. thieHis uncle was captured at hawthorn ridge on the somme in 1916 and he became a pow in Germany.I said we would have a night on the somme and visit the battlefields and show him around, anyway we stayed in a town called baupame. The next day I took my friend around the memorials thiepvael, sunken road, newfoundland park,y ravine etc.We ended up at the Connaught tower the memorial to the 36th ulster division I said to the lady what part of ulster are you from she glared at me ,I told her who I was and she calmed down. The ladies husband had been a fireman in west Belfast ,he had been on an incident I had been at.We were sitting having a laugh and this bloke walked in we all stared.I looked at this guy and he just stared through me,this guy was bad news.Ive always like many had a gut instinct. It turned out to be Michael stone the guy who threw grenades at the milltown cemetery I
n 1988.I think he was let out on the good Friday agreement, but later got locked up for something else. The jist of the story is a lot of the time I go places I know someone ,or someone who who knows someone.
